A selection of wall paintings taken from the book ‘The Great Mirror of Folly’ A book of Dutch of satirical prints, plays, poetry, commentary, and financial prospectuses. Flicking through the book one can see scenes of desperate tradesmen holding up signs containing cries of help. A Devil who by means of bellows inserted into the rectum of a trader, inflates him to the point where he starts to vomit share-papers over a cheering crowd. I specifically select images where the traders body is presented as the site where economic activity is moving through, purging through the orifices and flesh.
Currently I’m turning this selection of images into a life-size diorama.
